Description
The Canon LBP2900 is a reliable monochrome laser printer designed for personal or small office use. It delivers fast, efficient performance, printing at a speed of 12 pages per minute (ppm) on A4 paper. You get crisp, professional-quality documents with a true 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Its Automatic Image Refinement Technology enhances this to a 2400 x 600 dpi equivalent. The printer uses Canon’s proprietary CAPT (Canon Advanced Printing Technology), which leverages your PC’s memory with a standard 2MB on-board to streamline the printing process.
You will appreciate its quick startup. It has a warm-up time of 0 seconds from Standby Mode, and it produces your first print in just 9.3 seconds or less after powering on. The LBP2900 handles a variety of paper sizes from its front tray, including A4, B5, A5, and various envelope types. You can also feed custom-sized paper through the manual tray. The printer’s front tray holds 150 sheets and the manual tray holds one sheet, while it outputs 100 sheets face-down.
Compact and lightweight, the printer measures 370 x 251 x 217mm and weighs approximately 5.7kg without the cartridge. It connects to your computer via a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface and supports a range of operating systems, including Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and Linux (CUPS). You power the LBP2900 with a standard 220–240V, 50/60Hz power requirement. The printer uses a Canon Cartridge 303, which you can expect to print up to 2000 A4 pages with 5% coverage, helping you reduce overall print costs. Canon includes the printer, a Cartridge 303, a User Software CD-ROM, a Getting Started Guide, and a power cord as standard. We recommend a monthly print volume of 200 to 800 pages.
